Marble Hill
Marble Hill used to be part of Manhattan Island. A re-routing of the Harlem River to make it more navigable for big ships disconnected Marble Hill from Manhattan, and when landfill was added where the river used to run, Marble Hill became part of the mainland. Even though it's attached to the Bronx, Marble Hill is still part of the Borough of Manhattan.
